The Netherplace Estate in Mauchline was once a property with landscaped grounds, a curling pond, mansion house, stables, etc. In 1837 it was owned by William Campbell who left it to this two sisters. The second son of Colonel Hamilton of Carnell then acquired it and added 'Campbell' to his name.
