English: The original Nakamichi 600 2-head cassette deck (or "console", as the company called it) was part of the System One component series introduced in 1975. Like other components in the series, it was packaged in a slanted "console" enclosure for either horizontal operation, or for mounting vertically in a custom rack. The deck survived on the market longer than other components; the modernized model 600-II was introduced in 1978 and finally retired in 1979 with the rollout of Nakamichi's second-generation decks. The 600-II was a different model in its own right, having superior recording specs, two-tone test generator and a different configuration of adjustments pot. The usability of fine adjustments in a two-head deck remained ... marginal.
