Piarist School (Est.: 1765). Full name in 2023: Piarist Primary School, High School, College and Blessed Donáti Celestina Kindergarten. Maintainer: Hungarian Province of the Piarist Order. Founder: Count Lajos Ernő Batthyány palatine . - Built to 'Common' Barrack for the 48th Infantry Regiment in 1890. One Battalion of the Regiment had been continuously stationed in Nagykanizsa since 1857. The contractor was the Szeged-based company Erdélyi & Partners. The plans were made by Mór Geiszl. - The barracks were named after Archduke Frederick in 1908. In 1919,-under Hungarian Soviet Republic,-the barracks named as "Kun Béla Military Home" for a few months. - When the Teleki Street barracks were abandoned by the military college in 1922, the Regiment moved in and emptied the building complex here. During the remodelling, the two-storey crew building in the courtyard was converted into the gymnasium; on the ground floor was the director's office, various rooms, and at the north end of the building was the city's museum and library. On the first floor were placed classes and a teacher's room, on the second - lecture halls. A second floor was built (extended) on the building on Sugár Road side, which became the friary/monastery. This building was connected by a corridor to the now-demolished, ground-floor non-commissioned officers' building to the south of it. That became the refectory (dining room). The carriage shed on Király Pál Street (side), where today's sports hall is located, was converted into a gym/gymnasium. In 1924 the transformation of the former spare warehouse on the Hunyadi Street side into a two-storey boarding school designed to accommodate 50 people was started. The contractor was the successor company of Oszkár Sartory with Zoltán Kalmár, completed in 1928. - The relief of Ferenc Deák by Ede Telcs, inaugurated in 1903, was originally on the building of the grammar school on Eötvös Square. - In 1948, the Piarists graduated from high school, and then the order was dissolved. After nationalization, the buildings housed secondary school, mechanical engineering (1950-1956), chemical industry (from 1951), petroleum mining (from 1951) secondary and from 1956 primary school (Hunyadi school). The former building of the student accomodation was used as a pioneer house between 1957 and 1963. - 11 Sugár Road, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary.

A laktanya 1919-ben a „Kun Béla katonaotthon” nevet viselte néhány hónapig. - Amikor a Teleki úti laktanyát 1922-ben elhagyta a katonai főreáliskola, a katonaság a helyére költözve kiürítette az itteni épületegyüttest. Az átépítéskor az udvari, kétemeletes legénységi épületet alakították át a tulajdonképpeni gimnáziumnak; a földszinten volt az igazgatói iroda, különféle termek, továbbá az északi végen a város múzeuma és könyvtára. Az első emeleten az osztályok és a tanári szoba, a másodikon az előadótermek kerültek elhelyezésre.
