English: USA-140 and USA-141, also known as NRO launch 8 (NROL-8 or simply L-8), is a National Reconnaissance Office technology demonstration satellite named STEX and an accompanying experiment named ATEx. It was orbited by a Taurus 1110 rocket, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base Launch Complex 576E on 3 October 1998.
