English: Taunton College (or Grammar School) was established in the late fifteenth century although it was refounded in 1522. The site was used and improved over the years by several different educational establishments. In 1887 the site was taken over by the town council who turned it into their Municipal Buildings and added an extension on the west end in 1902. The main building is listed Grade II* and the original section is additionally a Scheduled Ancient Monument; the terrace facing Corporation Street is listed Grade II.
