English: Mulgoa Road Conservation Area is a heritage-listed area along Mulgoa Road in Wallacia, New South Wales. It is a group of Inter-War buildings and the Wallacia Post Office close to the village centre of Wallacia. The houses in the group are from the Inter-War period and have a similar bungalow form and scale.

The Inter-War period when Wallacia was a popular tourist destination was an important period for development in the village. The houses in the Mulgoa Road Conservation Area are good examples of residential development from this period in a cohesive group that make a positive contribution to the streetscape in the centre of the village.

1586 Mulgoa Road

This is an Inter-War California Bungalow style house with a gabled roof over the main house. The front verandah has a broad gabled roof supported on brick piers with stub columns. The verandah has a brick balustrade and brick piers with stub columns. The house is clad with rusticated weatherboards below the level of the window sills with battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting. The gables are finished with vertically battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting. The roof is galvanised steel and the eaves have exposed rafters. Windows are casement sashes.

1584 Mulgoa Road

This is an Inter-War Moderne bungalow with a hipped roof of glazed terracotta tiles. The façade facing the street is clad with face brick, the side walls are compressed fibrous cement sheeting. The house has a verandah on the north side of the front (west) elevation with brick piers and a brick balustrade. The entry is via a recessed porch on the north side of the house. French doors open to the front verandah and double hung windows with horizontal glazing bars are on the south side of the front elevation.

1582 Mulgoa Road

This is an Inter-War California Bungalow style house with a hipped roof over the main house. The front verandah has a broad gabled roof supported on brick piers with stub columns. The house is clad with a rusticated weatherboard below the level of the window sills with battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting above window sill level. The gable is finished with battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting. The roof is corrugated galvanised steel with roll top ridge and hip cappings and the eaves have exposed rafters. A brick chimney on the south side of the house has a square cowl. Windows are casement sashes.

1587 Mulgoa Road

This is an Inter-War California Bungalow style house with a double gabled facade facing east to Mulgoa Road. A broad gable faces the street and a secondary gable is over the projecting front room. The verandah is supported on timber posts and has a skillion roof. The house is clad with rusticated weatherboards. The roof is clad with corrugated galvanised steel and has roll top ridge cappings and barge rolls. Timber vents are in the street facing gables. Windows are double hung sashes, paired in the front elevation. The front door is high waisted and half glazed.

1589 Mulgoa Road (Wallacia Post Office)

Wallacia Post Office is a Post WWII building facing east to Mulgoa Road. It is a simple residential building at the rear with a shop added to the front, extending to the street boundary. The residence is a hipped roof building clad in compressed fibrous cement sheeting with a roof of terracotta tiles. Windows are double hung with horizontal glazing bars.

The shop is gabled and has a cantilevered awning across the shopfront, extending over the footpath. The entry to the shop is recessed. A fixed shop window is to the left of the entry, a glazed notice board to the right. A timber vent is centred o the street facing gable. Post boxes are set into the north wall of the shop.

A skillion roofed verandah across the front of the house has been infilled and clad with compressed fibrous cement sheeting.

1591 Mulgoa Road

1591 Mulgoa Road is an Inter-War California Bungalow style house with a double gabled front facing east to Mulgoa Road. The verandah has a gabled roof supported on masonry piers finished with roughcast render below short timber posts. The house is clad with rusticated weatherboards and has a corrugated galvanised steel roof with roll top ridge cappings and barge rolls. Windows are casement sashes, in sets of two and three. A brick chimney is at the rear of the house.

1593 Mulgoa Road

This is an Inter-War California Bungalow style house with a double gabled front facing east to Mulgoa Road. A broad gable also faces north. A broad gable faces the street and a secondary gable is over the projecting front room. The verandah has a skillion roof supported on brick piers below tapered posts. The house is clad with rusticated weatherboards and has a galvanised steel roof with roll top ridge and hip cappings. The smaller gable has a battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting cladding to the gable. The larger gable has a panel of battened compressed fibrous cement sheeting below chamfered weatherboards.
