Molde rådstue was built early 1860s, put into use on 1 April 1865. Basically the town hall (front building) and prison (back building). Town hall until the 1950s. Prison was closed 2005. In the 2010s the prison part included in the culture school. In "front" of the town hall was a property called "sirkustomta" where travelling circuses could rent until 1913 (when local authorities put an end to "that sort of use").^{Historien om fengselet i Kristiansund}
