The construction of this organ was begun in 1641 by Louis and Jehan de Héman, the nephews of Valéran de Héman, and completed by Pierre Désenclos and Jacques Lefèbvre, nephew of the Hémans, in 1651. The instrumental part was transformed in 1813 by Pierre François Dallery then in 1876 by Joseph Merklin. The buffet and the gallery were sculpted by Germain Pillon (or Pilon, but not the famous Renaissance sculptor), ordinary carpenter sculptor of the King's buildings, from 1641 to 1646. The whole was restored in 1981 by Théo Haerpfer de Boulay.
