Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône, Camargue, France), on Mireille square, bronze statue of Mirèio commissioned by Frédéric Mistral from the sculptor Antonin Mercié, cast by Ferdinand Barbedienne, installed in June 1913, inaugurated on September 26, 1920. Saved in 1943 from the recast ordered by the German military by Louis-Adrien Durand from Nîmes. Stumbling Mireille, sunstroke in the stony desert of Crau, walking towards the church of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
