English: Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum of the Hongwu Emperor (ruled 1368–98) — on Purple Mountain in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, southeast China.
  • Tomb of Zhu Yuanzhang—Ming Taizu—Hongwu, the founder of the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) in Imperial China.
  • Along the route from the entry gate to the mausoleum, one sees:
  • Xia Ma Pai Fang (下马牌坊), the marker indicating the place where visitors had to dismount (from their horses)
  • Da Jin Men (大金门), or the Great Golden Gates. The monumental main entry gate to the site.
  • Sifangcheng (四方城), a square pavilion, with no roof, with a giant bixi tortoise holding the Shengdong Shende stele
  • Stone Elephant Road, lined with various stone animals
  • Wengzhong Road, lined with military and civil officials, and ending in the Lingxing Gate
  • Wen Wu Fang Men (文武方门; The Gates of the Quadrangle of the Civil and Military [Officials]); here one enters the "Quadrangle"
  • Tablet Hall (碑殿), which houses the bixi with a tablet from the Qing Kangxi Emperor
  • Formerly:
  • Xiaoling Hall (Xiaoling Dian, 孝陵殿), later destroyed and rebuilt as the "Pavilion Hall" (享殿. Ting Dian). Presently, there are book/souvenir shops inside.
  • Nei Hong Men (内红门), "The Inner Red Gates". Here one leaves the quadrangle and inters Ming Xiaoling's inner complex of structure.
  • Ming Lou (明楼) / Soul Tower. The tall building is half embedded into the southern face of the Treasure Mound.
  • Treasure Mound (宝顶, Bao Ding), or Lone Dragon Hill (独龙阜, Dulong Fu), the tumulus under which the actual burial chamber is supposed to be located.
  • Also:
  • An unfinished bixi with a blank stele, whose place in the original design plan is not quite clear
Русский: Мин Сяолин, мавзолей Чжу Юаньчжана (императора Хунъу), основателя династии Мин
