English: Middlecliffe is a small South Yorkshire hamlet straddling the road between Darfield and Great Houghton, close to Barnsley, where Middlecliff Lane joins the B6273 road. It is mostly a collection of current and former council houses, served by a Post Office, small corner shop and a Working Mens club. Often confused with Little Houghton, the civil parish of which it forms a part, the village is served by two bus stops.
