Description from Auckland Museum: Cocktail dress, coat, bag and necklace worn by donor's aunt Phyllis Whitworth (nee Teague) .1 below knee, mauve silk with high neck and short sleeves; beaded midriff with imitation pearls and diamantes, pink glass beads, cut glass sequins and plastic beaded tassels, hand applied; 6 round apertures in midriff covered in net to show skin; sleeves similarly decorated with beads, tassels with 1 aperture; fastens at back with mauve metal zip which is hand stitched,, fully lined with (manmade fibre); padded rouleau neckline. .2 mid calf with 3-4 sleeve and mandarin collar in mauve silk; beaded collar with imitation pearl, diamante and other plastic gems, midriff fully beaded with 3 tab fastenings which hold the coat front open leaving gap, tabs have handmade eyes which fasten to 3 metal hooks; fully lined in mauve manmade material; hem feather stitched, lining attached at hem with handmade shanks; manufacturers label hand stitched to lining at collar "Milady Hong Kong" .3 small, beaded handbag made of mauve silk; small handle and flap with dome fastening; floral motif on flap and reverse made of purple rhinestones and plastic beads; some staining on exterior silk; fully lined with three internal pockets, one of which zips. .4 necklace, 2 strings with 13 drops of glass and plastic gems with brass clasp at back
