English: A micro trencher is a "small rockwheel" specially designed for work in urban area. It is fitted with a cutting wheel that cuts a microtrench with a smaller width (30 mm to 130 mm) than can be achieved with conventional trench digging equipment. With a micro trencher, the basic structure of the road or sidewalk is maintained and the volume of waste material excavated is reduced. Micro trenchers are used to minimize traffic or pedestrian disturbance during cutting.
