Category:Metropolis of Kyiv and All Ukraine
The Metropolis of Kyiv and all Ukraine is a metropolis of the Eastern Orthodox Church whose canonical territory includes the whole of the modern state of Ukraine. The episcopal title has been created with varying suffixes at multiple times in different Christian churches, though always maintaining the name of the metropolitan city — Kiev (Kyiv) — which today is the capital city of Ukraine. The modern metropolis was erected and canonised by the Unification council of the Eastern Orthodox churches in 2018. Following the establishment of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, it was granted independence (autocephaly) by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in 2019.
