The Metro Mass Transit Limited is a parastatal road transport enterprise in Ghana. It was founded in October 2003, initially under the legal form of a Limited Liability Company (LLC) after US-American pattern. Later, the legal form was changed to a Limited (Ltd.). The government of Ghana owns 45% of the shares and is hence the greatest shareholder (2015). Self declared aim of this enterprise is "...to provide safe, affordable, efficient and reliable movement of commuters within metropolitan and municipal areas". The MMT succeed the Omnibus Services Authority (OSA) which had operated as public enterprise for the urban and overland transportation of passengers in the Gold Coast and Ghana respectively since 1927.
