English: Memorial stone to Miss Hannah Szenes (1921-1944), martyred victim of the Holocaust, in the park bearing her name (Budapest, 7th district, Park Szenes Hanna [at the cross of streets Jósika and Rózsa]). On the stone a quote from her poem can be read:
"Die... an early death... No. I didn't want.
I loved the song and the light,
The warming sun, two shining eyes.
War, havoc, I didn't want,
No, I didn't want."
The memorial was inaugurated on December 21, 2009.
Français : Mémorial de pierre pour Melle Hannah Szenes (1921-1944), victime martyrisée de l'Holocauste, dans le parc portant son nom (Parc Szenes Hanna, Budapest, 7e arr., [au carrefour des rues Jósika et Rózsa]). Sur la pierre une citation de son poème peut être lue:
« Mourir... jeunes... Non. Je ne le voulait pas.
J'aimais la chanson et la lumière,
Le soleil réchauffant, deux yeux brillants.
De la guerre, du ravage, je n'en voulais pas,
Non, je n'en voulais pas. »
Le mémorial fut inauguré le 21 décembre 2009.
Magyar: Emlékkő Szenes Hannának, a holokauszt mártírhalált halt áldozatának, a róla elnevezett parkban (Szenes Hanna park, Budapest, VII. kerület, [Jósika és Rózsa utca sarok]). A kövön egyik verséből olvasható idézet:
„Meghalni... ifjan... Nem. Nem akartam.
Szerettem a dalt, és a fényt,
A melengető napot, két csillogó szempárt.
Háborút, romlást, nem akartam én,
Nem, nem akartam.”
Felavatva: 2009. december 2-án.
