English: Although an exact construction date cannot be determined for this house, it is known that in 1796 Bernard Medley bought the lot, known then as 99 Fayette Street and transferred it one month later to Clement Sewall. Early Georgetown assessment books show that Medley's property was with a value of $700 in 1807. There is some evidence, however, that the house was extant by 1798. The Georgetown assessment books for this year reflect an entry for Sewall for one house and lot 200 pounds, although an address for the house and lot was not recorded..
