Maximilian Umbrecht (1873-1955) was an American architect from Syracuse, NY who after a brief partnership in that city with Harley B. Jeffery (which produced several residential projects in Yonkers, Flatbush and Greenfield) relocated to Seattle in 1900 to design several large commercial buildings for client L.C. Smith. Afterward he largely focused on residential structures and interior design. From 1907-10 he worked with Albert W. Spalding as Spalding & Umbrecht. He returned to Syracuse in the early 1920s, where he would continue to practice, designing schools and suburban homes up until his death in 1955.
