English: Maurice Wilks was the Chairman of the Rover Company from 1961 until his death in 1963. He was responsible for the first Land Rover model in 1947 and involved in the design of the Rover JET gas turbine powered car, which built on Rover and Wilks' experience building jet engines during World War 2.
