English: Masjid Hajjah Fatimah (Hajjah Fatimah Mosque) at 4001 Beach Road, Singapore 199584, was designed by an unknown British architect and built between 1845 and 1846 by French contractors using Malay labour. The mosque was named after Hajjah Fatimah, a wealthy Malay woman from Malacca who carried on her Bugis husband's business after his death. The site of the mosque was originally where her residence stood. However, she donated the land and money to build the mosque after the residence was broken into twice by thieves in the late 1830s, and was set on fire on the second occasion. The building was gazetted a national monument on 28 June 1973.
