The Marmon Motor Car Co. was an organized in 1924 to take over automobile manufacturing from its parent company, Nordyke & Marmon Company, which was established in 1851 and started automobile production in 1905. The companies separated in 1926, with Nordyke & Marmon Company being sold to Allis Chalmers. Marmon Motor Car Co. produced fine automobiles until 1933, another victim of the Great Depression.
