English: Jodocus Hondius was likely influenced by Ortelius' maps of the area, but despite a superficial likeness, his maps are distinct: The maps of Ortelius were adapted by Hondius (who also looked up other sources) and inserted in all editions of Atlas sive Cosmographiae from about 1602 onwards, also by his heir Hendrik Hondius.
