This layout has been created to make diagrams of piano keyboards more intuitive.
Thanks to their different parities the keys C/F and E/B don't look alike anymore.
Also the black keys have a clear enough shape, so they don't need to be darker than the others.
This removes a lot of visual noise and makes the color black free to carry actual information.
