From the USC Digital Library files: During the 1992 riots, the Los Angeles City Council met several times to discuss strategies to curtail the violence. The council also met on several occasions after the riots had ended to ascertain the short-term and long-term effects of the civil disturbance. The series includes recordings of nine city council meetings on video cassette tapes.

The collection was given to the University of Southern California on October 30, 1992 by the Special Advisor to the Board of Police Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles.
