Loch Ballygrant, Islay, collects water from various small springs and runlets on the hills around it, as well as from a stream descending from Loch Lossit to the south. Loch Ballygrant egresses through Ballygrant to the east into Ballygrant Burn, which descends to the River Sorn, and is the major source of that river. The Sorn reaches Loch Indaal through Bridgend. Fish control is a concern to the area, especially trout, of which many varieties are localized to the waters.
