A huge (345 centimeters, 15 tons) lion sheltering a gazelle, 1st-century BC, found in the Temple of Allat within Diocletian's camp. Thought to represent the dual principles of bravery in the face of the enemy while showing mercy to the vulnerable. Damaged by ISIL but later restored as part of an international project.
