English: Lingxingmen (Ling Star Gate): This gate was erected in the thirteen year under thereign of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1415AD) and was rebuilt in the nineteen year under the reign of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1754AD). The three characters were written by Emperor Qianlong. The ancient Chinese offered sacrifices to Ling Star before they did to Heaven because it was believed that their reverence to Confucius was same important as that to Heaven.
