English: Learning pools (sometimes called teaching pools or training pools) are swimming pools that are suitable for learning to swim due to their shallow water depth and special structural design. Learning pools can be housed in separate buildings or as part of larger swimming facilities. The maximum water depth of learning pools is typically between 0.80 and 1.20 meters (between 3 and 4 feet). Learning pools typically have a gentle slope from the shallow to the deep end. At the shallow end, steps should lead into the water across the full width of the learning pool.
