English: Lanydza (ལཉྫ་) is the name Tibetans use for the Lañja script (called the Rañjanā script in Nepal.) Lañja is a Pala dynasty script which was used for writing Buddhist manuscripts. Many of the manuscripts of Buddhist texts brought to Tibet from India during the period of the second spread of the Dharma in Tibet were written in this script. Many alternative spellings of the term Lañja exist, including the following: Lanja, Landzha, Lanydza, Lantsa, Lantsha, Lentsa, Lendza.
Français : Lorsque le rañjanā a été introduit au Tibet, il a été appelé lañja (tibétain : ལཉྫ་), qui dérive simplement du mot sanskrit rañja. L’utilisation la plus fréquente de cette écriture aujourd’hui se trouve sur les pages de titre des textes tibétains, où le titre sanskrit est souvent écrit en lañja, suivi d’une translittération et d’une traduction en écriture tibétaine, ainsi que de nombreux manuscrits introduits par la dynastie Lañja durant la période Pala dans la seconde diffusion du dharma bouddhique au Tibet. L’écriture est également utilisée de manière décorative sur les murs des temples, à l’extérieur des moulins à prières et dans le dessin des mandalas. De nombreuses orthographes alternatives du terme lañja existent, notamment les suivantes : lanja, landzha, lanydza, lantsa, lantsha, lentsa, lendza.
