History

  • 1866 Named Periere for Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, Paris
  • 1881 After a fire broke, when she was in La Goulette Harbour, Tunis she was scuttled. She was later raised, refitted and returned to service
  • 1887 Stranded off St Nazaire and seriously damaged. Sold to A.E. Kinnear & Co., London. Her engines were removed, she was converted to a sailing ship and renamed Lancing
  • 1893 Sold to Johan Bryde and partners, Sandefjord
  • 1896 Sold to Frank Ross & Co, London
  • 1901 A/S Lancing (mng J Johanson & Co), Christiania
  • 1918 (mng Magnus E. Melsom, Larvik)
  • 1920 (mng Melsom & Melsom, Larvik)
  • 1925 Scrapped by Frassinetti, Genoa
