383 Eighth Avenue at the corner of West 29th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was Lamartine Hall, the headquarters of Irish Protestant "Orangemen" in the 1870s. It was the starting place for the Orangemen's Day Parade on July 12, 1871, which turned into the second so-called "Orange Riot", in which Irish Protestants and Irish Catholics clashed with each other, and with the NYPD and New York State National Guard.
