Lake Chimay or Chiamay was an imaginary lake once believed to lie in southern China or northern Indochina, from which the Brahmaputra, Irrawaddy, and other rivers flowed. It appears to have taken its name from Chiang Mai in Thailand and mistaken reports of the lake's existence in the writing of Fernão Mendes Pinto.
