English: Images of steam locomotive 60163 Tornado wearing her British Railways Brunswick Green livery. This was the second proper livery she wore, replacing the LNER Apple Green livery (but with BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender). Brunswick green was the historic livery carried by all of the original 49 Peppercorn class A1s for most of their lives.

Tornado was repainted in the National Railway Museum's paint shop, where she had been based since Christmas 2010 undergoing winter maintenance. She was officially unveiled in the new livery at the museum on 9 May 2011 on the turntable in the Great Hall. After various movements in and around the museum over the next few days, the first appearance on the main line was for test runs from York to Scarborough on 18 May. Her first public appearance was on 26 May (delayed by a day) at the beginning of a spell on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

The livery was initially turned out complete with the 1950-56 British Railways crest on the tender, but this was replaced by the 2012 season with the post-1956 version.
