The Mahadeva temple of Kazhakuttam in Thiruvanathapuram district is an 8th to 9th century square plan Hindu temple in south Kerala. It is notable for sandhara-style dvitala vimana with granite adhisthana and laterite walls, one that likely illustrates an early stage of the Hindu Ay dynasty era architecture, a view with some scholarly dispute. The temple evidences a style is a fusion of the Hindu architectural traditions that parallelly developed in historic Tamil Nadu and Kerala regions.

The Kazhakuttam Mahadeva temple was regionally important, as evidenced by the expansion and additional Hindu monuments that were built around the historic Shiva temple. These additions and inscriptions can be traced through the 15th century. Of note are the Ganesha shrine, pyramidal shikara Vishnu temple from the 9th-century, octogonal shikara Dravida-style Krishna temple, apsidal plan Shasta temple and others.
