English: Karamea Area School is a coeducational composite school (years 1–13), with a roll of 77 as of March 2022. The Ministry of Education classifies the school amongst the four most isolated schools in the country. The school celebrated 125 years of settlement and schooling in 2000. A rebuild costing $11m was in progress in 2022.
