Kaingahou, 642 Pioneer Highway, Palmerston North, New Zealand. Kaingahou was built for Dietlev Monrad, grandson of Bishop Monrad, around 1905 after he retired from from the family farm Karere. He died in 1908. The house was successively owned by the Kendall family, Mr R A Swan, Mrs Helen Beckman, Bodil and Gunner Petersen, and Alison and Jason Kinghorn. The 3500 square foot home is built of solid kauri timber. It has HNZ Category II listing, number 1265.
