English: The statue of Zeus in the Temple of Zeus at Olympia found a close match in the statue of Jupiter (etymologically "father Zeus") in the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus on the Capitoline Hill in Rome, thanks to Etruscan management. Remnants of Jupiter Capitolinus are equally elusive as those of Zeus at Olympia. Currently the site is occupied by the Capitoline Museum, which doubles as a government building. From the 1st and 2nd centuries descend a series of bronze statuettes representing the seated Jupiter, function unknown.
