Jolson Sings Again is an American film directed by Henry Levin, released in 1949.
Midway through the movie, the song "Sonny Boy",which Jolson sings at a benefit, turns out to be the incident that causes Hollywood to take notice of him and plan his biography.
"Sonny Boy" had been recorded for THE JOLSON STORY(1946),but Columbia studio President Harry Cohn personally ordered it cut---he felt the song was too sad and would interrupt the film's happy mood.
