John Nesbitt (Ballinrobe, Ireland 1831 – Edinburgh 15 July 1904) was a seascape and landscape painter who lived in Edinburgh from 1861. He was a photographer by trade, but in 1866 became a professional landscape painter. He exhibited seascapes at the Royal Scottish Academy, and for 19 successive years his works were accepted at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He was also a violinist, and leader of the Edinburgh Amateur Orchestral Society. He belonged to the Scottish Conservative Club, and he had a wife and family.
