English: The Jayne Building was an eight-story commercial structure located at 242-244 Chestnut St (Historical address: 84-86 Chestnut St.) in the Old City City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The building was constructed from 1849 to 1851. The interior was gutted by fire in on March 4, 1872, after which it was recontructed. The building was demolished in 1857 as part of the urban revitalization projects that were involved in the establishment of Independence National Historical Park. Today, remnants of the foundations of the building are still located beneath the Museum of the American Revolution.
