English: Johannes "Jan" Pieter Pronk (born March 16, 1940) is a Dutch politician and diplomat. Between 1973 and 2002, he has served three terms as Minister for Development Cooperation and one term as Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment in the States-General for the Labour Party (PvdA). From 2004 until 2006, he was the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of Mission for the United Nations Mission in Sudan. Currently, he is a Professor of Theory and Practice of International Development at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.

Nederlands: Johannes Pieter (Jan) Pronk ( Scheveningen, 16 maart 1940) is een Nederlands politicus. Hij was minister in vier kabinetten: Den Uyl, Lubbers III, Kok I en Kok II. Ook maakte hij deel uit van de Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal en was hij in verschillende functies werkzaam voor de Verenigde Naties. Pronk is lid van de Partij van de Arbeid, waarbinnen hij geldt als exponent van de linkervleugel.
