Italian-suited playing cards are found in northern Italy in various patterns. They differ from the Spanish-suited patterns of southern Italy in that the suit of clubs becomes the suit of batons and the suit of swords has swords with curved blades instead of straight ones. The cup symbols are usually hexagonal in plan rather than circular.
