A sculpture by Inge King "Upward Surge" 1975-75 locate on the estern side of the John Medley building and the University of Melbourne, Australia Painted steel 169.0 x 142.0 x 122.0 cm.
"Upward surge was commissioned for the Institute of Early Childhood Development, Kew, at a time when great developments in the teaching of children were being made. ‘The sculpture of flight with wings soaring upwards expresses these aspirations’, said King. Upward surge was installed in its current location in 2001. [1]
