On the Maiolica plate below there are figures that are from four engravings from the erotic book I modi. It is thought that between 1531 to 1535 Xanto saw Agostino Veneziano's copy of I modi and copied these figures on to this maiolica.[1]

There is a second Maiolica plate by Xanto that has copied one figure from one engraving from i modi.[2] This figure appears on both Maiolica plates by Xanto and corresponds to image 3 in the woodcut copy edition of I modi.[2]
