- 1939 Surprised by the outbreak of World War II during a training voyage in New York, made available to the American government
- 1939 Laid up in Jacksonville, Florida
- 1942 Used to train around 5,000 cadets.
- 1945 Returned to Denmark, sailing two longer training cruises each year to train officers and future able-bodied seamen
