Huskisson Dock impounding station. The Liverpool and Wallasey dock systems are "floating" docks independent of the tides and are entered via locks. The level is topped up by impounding stations. The Huskisson Dock station contained four inverted vertical tandem compound steam engines - three of c1900 and one of 1887 that was installed secondhand in 1908. The station is now flat but most of one engine is preserved outside at the Merseyside Maritime Museum
