English: A heave line is an overdevelopment of a horse's abdominal muscles resulting from chronic laboured breathing, showing as a line falling from the flank towards the elbow. Please note that the same bulging of these muscles can be seen on perfectly healthy horses when they're exerted. A heave line remains visible even in rest.
