- Twenty-Four Exemplars of Filial Piety Honchō Nijūshikō 本朝廿四孝 is a historical drama originally written for the puppet theater and quickly adapted to kabuki. It is named after the Confucian classic Twenty-Four Exemplars of Filial Piety 廿四孝 but doesn't directly include any of the characters from that book.
