English: Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) influenced the art of the surimono print in Japan. The so-called Hokusai school included his followers Toyota Hokkei (1780–1850), Gakutei Harunobu (c.1786–1868), and Ryuryukyo Shinsai (c.1764–1820), among others.
