The Hitachi D-64 was a low-end PLC / programmable relay with 64 points based on an 8-bit Hitachi HD6802 (clone of the Motorola MC6802) microprocessor. It was also marketed by Häwa under the name jet64r.

These PLCs were not field-programmable, but used a socketed 2 kilobyte EPROM for storing the configuration. A programming unit was available, which was fixed to the front panel of the PLC. The programmer had three displays: step number, operation and data. Available operations were AND, OR, STR, NOT, OUT, TMR, CNT, SFR. The programmer had a single-step function. It seems likely that the 2K SRAM in the PLC is used to store the active program, being copied from the 2K EPROM or written into the SRAM by the programmer. The programmer also had a parallel printer interface and two 3.5mm jacks for connecting to a cassette deck for storing programs.
